Ida Nov 09
Home Up

November 8, 2009

Late season hurricane takes aim at D.I. as it sits here weakened by Katrina, Gustav, and Ike.  Seems to be weakening a little and veering off to the east a little, so maybe total devastation will not occur.

After last nights high tide and ocean swells from Ida.  Gentle washover just put water in the road, but no big sand moval.

East end at Noon.  Tides are 2 feet above normal, and we are at dead low tide. It will be coming up in a couple of hours to a high tide at 3am., at which time they say we may be experiencing 50 knot winds from the east.

November 10, 2009, morning after Ida came ashore at Dauphin Island. Some sewer lines from houses broken off on houses closer to the gulf and some stair loss.  Not a big deal compared to other overwashes.
