Starting at the Holiday Isle area and walking west.

Side streets are not bad so far->

Canal areas on the north side not too bad, and didn't swell too bad apparently-> Raphael Semmes to the gulf, note the sand pile still there->

Admirals house still good->

Waves crossing in the middle of the island between Bienville and Island Shores->

Long lens view toward the west end-> Is that something down there that shouldn't be?->

 

Kids,, don't swing too high, you could fall out->

Looks like the houses are still there->

Power lines down due to tiny pine twig->

Very little winds, but Ike has stirred up the Gulf.  Bear in mind that these waves have already crossed some shallows, so those further west will be breaking much closer to shore. Presently offshore, waves are at 25 feet and 17 second intervals.

Ike is not coming here, but as it exited Cuba heading for Texas, large swells are thrown our way. This is the first and smallest at 10 am on
