Apple Pie

Topping 1/2 Cup Sugar
1 Cup All Purpose Flour 1/3 Cup All Purpose Flour
2/3 Cup Light Brown Sugar, Packed 1 Tsp Cinnamon, Ground
1 Stick Butter, Cold And Cut Into 1/4 Tsp Nutmeg, Ground
-Small Pieces 1 Tbsp Lemon Juice, Fresh
1/2 Cup Walnuts 1/3 Cup Sour Cream
Filling 3 Pounds Granny Smith Apples, (6-7)

 

Preheat oven to 400.

Topping
Food processor: pulse flour and brown sugar to mix. Add butter and pulse until crumbly. Add walnuts and pulse until coarsely chopped.

Filling
Mix sugar, flour, cinnamon and nutmeg in a very large bowl. Add sour cream and lemon juice, stir to mix. Peel, quarter and core apples. Cut crosswise into thin slices. Add to bowl and toss until evenly coated. Spread filling in pie shell, mounding apples in center. Pat topping evenly over apples to form a top crust. Place on cookie sheet and bake 15 minutes. Reduce to 350 and bake 45 minutes, if topping browns too quickly cover with tin foil.
